Artiste think music is only for fun, Some don’t write their songs they just freestyle | Genesis Of Rhymes

I am called Genesis of Rhymes, but my official name is John Moses. I am a music producer, graphic designer, video director and a performing artiste.

I started music in 2003, recorded my first song in 2004 and went into music production in 2006. What inspired me to do music was my passion for music I grew up singing on my way to school and music was a good company. Back then, I was doing my diploma in Law at university of Jos and also spending my free time in the studio mostly night sessions.

In my early days as a producer I had only a desktop and I use to make beats for 1500 after making the beat I will take the artiste to any studio and buy time to record and mix. My first studio gadgets were desktop system, normal home speakers and a church mic.

In 2008 I settled down fully in Lafia as a producer working with late Israel X in his studio. As an undergraduate at Nasarawa state University Keffi in 2010 I had my home studio in my off campus small apartment, from where I was able to raise money to build my studio.

Today as a graduate who holds BSc in psychology I make a living from music production. I’ve produced the likes of Magnito, BOC, Ozee, Mc Rolex, Suspi, Shekz, MacJamez, Adams swagg, Elbo and lots more.

I started graphic designing and video editing in 2013 as a hobby and finally decided to make it part of my career after making N80,000 from my first video deal 2015.

Some Artistes think music is only for fun. Some of them don’t take time to write their songs they just freestyle which make their songs less than what it would have been if written and practiced. Some artistes also don’t like motivating the producer by paying the required session fee. At the end the producer is left with just a change after the jobs is done.

I advise the readers to be consistent in what you do; don’t give up when the going gets rough. Set for yourself a goal and never lose focus.
